My secret dream (sunrise hunters-7.15.25)

A recording from Frankie Simmons's live video
1

A couple of days ago, Fa left a comment on one of our Sunrise Hunter replays saying,

“Hiii! This is truly wonderful, thank you so much!

I don’t know what the plans are for after these 7 days, but it would be wonderful if these videos could stay here. Sometimes it’s hard to have free access to these types of experiences, and there are lots of us who wouldn’t be able to have them if they weren’t this accessible, and they are game changers🤍”

Can I tell you a secret? My actual biggest dream is to make everything I do free.

To have enough paid subscribers (or support from other areas) who are invested in creating more presence and connection that I can facilitate morning routines, host full-blown workshops, and develop resources, and then post them all for free, for everyone.

Often, it feels like the need to make money and decide what’s free and what’s paid and how to transition an idea into something that can pay my rent is the main thing clogging up my creativity. I don’t enjoy the need to make money at all!!

And I know that for many, scaling the paywalls between them and the support their hearts are craving requires energy and time that is needed elsewhere in their life.

That was, for me, part of the experiment I’m running through this week of daily free offerings…what happens if I just create the way I want to create, without having to try and play the game? Might that open up more flow? Might it let me connect with people I’ve been missing out on hearing from, because they didn’t see a place for themselves in my work?

Like all of you, I also need to pay bills. I don’t expect some magical force to come and free me from the bonds of capitalism, to wake up and not have to think about it anymore. I also have a lot of layered thoughts on the role money plays (for better or for worse) in communicating value in our current world, and the way that an exchange of currency can shift the way people show up to and engage with resources.

But the longer I go, the more my dream job is something akin to a monk or, like, a bard or something, someone who just gives of their skills and is sustained by the offerings of their community, existing in a web of reciprocity that doesn’t have to be so transactional. Where people understand that sometimes what they have to offer in exchange for what they receive is $7, sometimes it’s a comment and a share, sometimes it’s allowing yourself to be cared for and trusting that we’re all better when you’re around and have what you need, and we all get to build something that relies on other communications of care and appreciation than just cash.

I guess I just wanted you to know that about me! And to let you know that I’m committed to thinking about accessibility in every facet of my job.

For today, yes, these videos will be available for you to return to after this week! Please use them, let me know when you come back to them, feel the love for you - the belief in what you have to offer this world - baked into them!

And, I’m your friendly neighborhood busker, passing the hat around at the end of a set! If you have a couple of quarters to throw in there out of appreciation, know you’re making more music possible in doing so (my venmo is @frankie-simmons! my cash app is $FrankieSi!)

If a couple hundred of you have 7 extra dollars a month that you’d like to devote to the creation of more accessible resources, then signing up as a paid subscriber is the best way to join with me in creating my dream. I promise to keep searching for ways to support our collective presence.

Day 7!

For all watching the replay, you are invited to make your presence known! Drop a comment, let me know where you’re watching from, share what surprised, confused, or delighted you in this practice. Your participation shapes the experience we all have!

Today we listened to this playlist.

I’ll be back tomorrow morning (7am central) with new prompts and new music and a new opportunity to discover ourselves.

If you enjoyed this practice, consider supporting what I create here by signing up for a paid subscription! This gets you access to even more resources and exclusive content, and makes free experiments like this one possible.
