At the end of today’s grounding practice, we were closing with a two-word check-in, and one of our lovely participants described their current energy as “wonder and confusion”.
And I’ve been thinking about how often those go together.
How the magic of being opened to something new cannot exist without the willingness to be surprised and befuddled.
How our capacity for uncertainty is walking hand in hand with our capacity to be delighted.
Confusion is a feeling many of us aren’t great at tolerating. In an environment that wants us to always have answers, whose vision of success is someone who knows exactly where they’re at and what they’re doing and embodies perpetual confidence, not quite understanding everything feels like a failure.
But what if that exact question you’re resisting or frantically trying to solve is exactly where the wonder lives?
What if there’s magic in your not knowing?
Today, I hope we open up to the question. Let ourselves be confused and feel the wonder inherent to that experience.
What are you not sure about?
Tell me about it and let me sit in it with you, without trying to fix it, without pretending like there’s anything to fix.
Day 4!!

Today we listened to my bossa nova focus playlist.
I’ll be back tomorrow morning (7am central) with new prompts and new music and a new opportunity to discover ourselves.
